Students in the Marquette University and Medical College of Wisconsin Biomedical Engineering Department have tremendous opportunities to conduct research involving MCW clinical partner locations such as Froedtert Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, the BloodCenter of Wisconsin, the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center and many other clinical settings throughout the region. This exposure is second to none in BME programs around the country, offering an amazing array of research opportunities in close proximity to your labs.
Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin comprise eastern Wisconsin's only academic medical center, including Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee; Community Memorial Hospital, Menomonee Falls; and St. Joseph's Hospital, West Bend. The health network also includes more than 2,000 physicians across 25 primary and specialty clinical locations representing the collaboration of Wisconsin’s largest multispecialty physician practice with a community-based physician group.
Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin
The region's only independent health care system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children in Milwaukee and throughout the state, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin provides kids and their families with everything from routine care for ear aches or sore throats to life saving advances and treatment options.
BloodCenter of Wisconsin
The BloodCenter of Wisconsin provides a continuum of care that includes the discovery, diagnosis, treatment and cure of many life-altering health conditions. Located on the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center campus, it features diagnostic laboratories, a Medical Sciences Institute, a Blood Research Institute and organ and tissue donation and matching.
Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center
The Zablocki VA Medical Center is located on 125 acres on the western edge of Milwaukee and delivers primary, secondary, and tertiary medical care in 168 care acute operating beds and provides over 500,000 visits annually through an extensive outpatient program. The nursing home care unit of 113 beds offers geriatric programming and the 356 domiciliary beds are the locus of programs in Substance Abuse Rehabilitation, Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder care.
