Dr. Lei FanDr. Lei Fan

Dr. Lei Fan is director and principal investigator of the Fan Flow Integrated Research Laboratory. Her research interests include computational and experimental biomechanics, as well as the development and optimization of clinical treatments and medical devices. As an assistant professor in the MU-MCW Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering, Dr. Fan teaches Biomechanics Lab Design I & II at Marquette University.

Postdoctoral Researchers

Headshot of Dr. RenBaihua Ren

Baihua earned his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University and completed his PhD in Mining and Materials Engineering at McGill University, where he specialized in computational mechanics of materials and multi-scale simulations. He is now a postdoctoral researcher in computational biomechanics, focusing on the subject-specific computational modeling development for biological systems and machine learning.

 

Graduate Students

Chenghan received his Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering with minor in Computer Science from Michigan State University. He is currently seeking his PhD in biomedical engineering with a focus on modeling development of the coronary vascular system and carries out correlative in vivo experimentation using the rodent model. 

 

Bing XiaBing Xia

Bing received his Master's Degree in Engineering Mechanics from Shanghai University. He is currently seeking his PhD in Biomedical Engineering with a focus on computational modeling development and soft tissue experimentation. 

 

Undergraduate Students

In keeping with the educational mission of the Fan Flow Research Laboratory, undergraduate students are invited to participate in ongoing research projects through a variety of undergraduate research programs sponsored by the Marquette-MCW Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering.
