Drs. Robert Scheidt of the NMCL and Maura Casadio of UniGE DIBRIS seek candidate for a four-month research rotation to be completed at the University of Genoa, Italy, during the 2025–2026 academic school year. Applicants should submit a proposed research statement with desired UniGE Faculty to Drs. Scheidt and Casadio no later than April 15, 2025. Details below. This opportunity is open to all current MU-MCW BME Graduate Students. 

Overview

The Neuromotor Control Laboratory announces a four-month research rotation opportunity for current MU-MCW BME graduate students to be conducted at the University of Genoa (UniGe) within the 2025–2026 academic year. This opportunity is funded by the European Union Erasmus+ KA-107 mechanism awarded to the University of Genoa, as communicated by Dr. Maura Casadio, PhD, of UniGe. The selected candidate will conduct research within the Department of Computer Science, Bioengineering, Robotics and Systems Engineering (DIBRIS) at UniGe.

Application Process

To apply, please send a one-page research interest statement to Drs. Scheidt (robert.scheidt@marquette.edu) and Casadio (maura.casadio@unige.it) by April 15, 2025. The research statement should include a proposed topic of research to be performed while at UniGe, as well as a possible mentor for that research identified from the faculty of UniGe. Selection preference will be given to candidates with fewer opportunities and those underrepresented in Science and Engineering.
