Faculty
Dr. Robert Cooper
Dr. Robert Cooper received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Marquette University in 2016. He then completed a 4-year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania before returning to Marquette University and the Medical College of Wisconsin as an assistant professor of Biomedical Engineering. His research interests include measuring photoreceptor mosaic structure and function using advanced noninvasive techniques, developing tools for image processing and automated analysis, as well as clinical imaging modalities for studying the etiology of retinal disease.

Lab Members
Brea Brennan
Ph.D. Student Brea Brennan is exploring computing techniques and their application to functional and structural images of photoreceptors. Specifically, she is investigating how computing is used in the registration of images obtained through Adaptive Optics, along with how data is abstracted from these images.

Mina Gaffney
Ph.D. Student Mina Gaffney is exploring the structure-function relationships within photoreceptors. Specifically, she is interested in leveraging Adaptive Optics Scanning Light Ophthalmoscopy (AOSLO) to perform optoretinography and psychophysical experiments in populations with retinal pathologies.

Jenna Grieshop
OCVL Research Engineer Jenna Grieshop supports research initiatives by developing new iterations of software, installing new hardware, and implementing new imaging approaches. Jenna divides her time between the OCVL and the Advanced Ocular Imaging Program, a lab supported by MCW that works closely with the OCVL.

Niko Rios
OCVL Master's Student Niko Rios is exploring the use of image texture analysis techniques in Adaptive Optics. He is currently investigating whether texture analysis can impact the summarization of photoreceptor cell profiles, and whether detected patterns can be modelled to further classify cone behavior.
