Toth and Everson Receive Funding to Study Chronic Sleep Deficiency as a Cause of Bone Loss in Aging 

May 2024:  Drs. Jeffrey Toth and Carol Everson have received a $555 K award from the National Institutes of Health, for a new project seeking to define the biology of chronic sleep deficiency, how it changes bone structure and remodeling activities that underlie bone fragility and fracture risk in aging.

Toth Joins Reis NIDCR Project as Collaborator

March 2023: Dr. Toth will join Dr. Mariana Reis as a Collaborator—Key Personnel on a recently funded project entitled, "Structure and Biology of the Cementum as a Function of Age and Disease."  This project is sponsored by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR).  Learn more about the project

March 2023: Dr. Reis is a Postdoctoral Fellow who is rotating through the BIMA Lab and is being trained on gross photography, fixation, decalcification, accessions, decalcified and undecalcified histology, microradiography and Faxitron radiography.  Learn more about Dr. Reis

Serour Wins Awards for Biomaterials Work

March 2021:  Congratulations to MUSoD Dental Student Mourin Serour, who won two awards for the research she conducted in the OREC Biomaterials Lab—First Place in the Predoctoral Clinical Case category  AND the IADR Student Research Day Award for her research project entitled, “Micro CT and Histological Findings of Atypical Molar Root Formation in Patients Diagnosed with PHACES Syndrome.”  Mourin presented her research project at the 21st Annual MUSoD Research Day, Milwaukee, WI, March 17, 2021.   Co-authors included Drs. Brian Hodgson, Jeffrey Toth, Husniye Demirturk, Yeshwant Rawal, Dawn Siegel, and Morteza Rasoulianboroujeni.  Learn more about IADR/AADOCR Awards

Dr. Toth serves as Panelist at "Hybrid" Spine Arthroplasty Summit

November 2020:  Dr. Toth recently served as a panelist on the “Biomechanics of Artificial Disc Replacement (ADR) Design Rationale: Material Differences” DOCS SPINE + ORTHOPEDICS 2nd Annual “Hybrid” Spine Arthroplasty Summit held November 13th and 14th of this year in Los Angeles, California.

 

Dr. Toth Provides Regulatory Guidance
