Joint Department expertise showcased at Biomedical Engineering Society Annual Meeting
Earlier this month, biomedical engineering ingenuity from Marquette University and the Medical College of Wisconsin was on display at the 2025 Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) Annual Meeting in San Diego, Calif. The Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering was represented by 16 students, faculty and staff, with highlights including research presentations, an exhibition booth featuring student-led tech demos, and a department-sponsored networking event that gathered attendees from peer institutions, area alumni and prospective graduate students.
New to the Joint Department’s participation this year were two high school students involved in the SUPREMES Program, which provides hands-on research and laboratory experiences to Milwaukee high schoolers. These students had an opportunity to participate in BMES’ high school poster expo and get an early start on envisioning their futures in the field of biomedical engineering.
