Students, faculty and staff in the Marquette-MCW Biomedical Engineering program are supported with wellness resources provided by both Marquette University and the Medical College of Wisconsin.
In addition to the events sponsored or supported by either institution, the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering is happy to provide additional examples of events and opportunities for community engagement in the Greater Milwaukee Area.
The personal and professional well-being of faculty, staff and students is vital to the mission of the Medical College of Wisconsin. Strong emotional health and opportunities for engagement ensure that individuals can be resilient in the face of challenges and find ways to express their creativity, all of which can have an impact on physical health. To this end, MCW provides resources to help support its community in maintaining and improving overall emotional well-being.
The Graduate School Association at the Medical College of Wisconsin is dedicated to enhancing the graduate student experience. In their ongoing commitment to building supportive communities and facilitating meaningful connections, they have provided contacts for local Connection Groups. These groups offer a platform for graduate students to come together based on shared interests or backgrounds. Whether you're interested in Diversity & Inclusion, LGBTQ+ resources, Women in Science, the International Student experience, or navigating the challenges of being a caregiver as a Student Parent, the available Connection Groups provide a space for camaraderie, support, and valuable connections.
Marquette University's Student Wellness initiative is a collaborative effort between the Marquette University Medical Clinic, Counseling Center and Recreational Sports program and demonstrates Marquette's commitment to the Catholic, Jesuit mission of cura personalis, or care for the whole person. Through Marquette's wellness portal, you will learn more about wellness and find information covering a wide variety of wellness topics, including health and fitness tips, current prevention topics, and campus and community resources.

The United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County is a large partner and beneficiary agency with the Medical College of Wisconsin. The United Way has multiple volunteering and engagement opportunities.
