Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering Welcomes Dr. Lei Fan

Lei Fan, PhD, has been appointed assistant professor in the Marquette University and Medical College of Wisconsin Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering. 

Dr. Fan received her PhD in Computational Mechanics from Durham University in the United Kingdom in 2019 and recently completed an American Heart Association (AHA) Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Department of Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University.

Dr. Fan’s current work is focused on developing multi-scale and multi-physics subject-specific computational models that are informed by experimental and clinical data to elucidate the underlying mechanisms of cardiovascular diseases and help design/optimize treatments.

As part of her appointment, Dr. Fan will also be teaching undergraduate biomechanics courses at Marquette's Opus College of Engineering.
